The IE minor starts after the first 3 semesters in the EMME degree.
Objectives
The IE minor offers future engineers a more in-depth study of environmental engineering. The aim is to acquire more advanced training in managing and optimizing the impact of industrial activities on the environment: eco-design and eco-construction, pollution treatment and prevention, water treatment, waste treatment, recycling of materials and products, managing industrial safety and risk policies. Experimental and digital modeling tools and methods are studied, along with the use of industrial equipment and software.
Specific skills
- Design and implement environmental engineering solutions in the fields of water, air, polluted soils, building and urban development
- Design and implement sustainable energy production equipment (using renewable energies in particular) and heating networks
- Design and implement the appropriate biophysical-chemical treatment chain to deal with water, air or soil pollution
- Design and implement clean, economical technologies, and treat and recycle waste Eco-innovate goods, services and processes
- Advise companies and local authorities on improving and optimizing their environmental performance and energy efficiency
- Manage an organization’s safety, environmental and industrial risk policies
- Integrate sustainable development and corporate social responsibility into an organization’s strategy
Students in the IE minor have the opportunity to follow the Energy program in partnership with École des Mines of Nancy.
