Education

Engineering degree – Intelligent and Autonomous Systems (SIA)

The IA2R programme is a 3-year long Engineering Degree.

The 5 pillars of the IA2R programme

  1. Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
  2. Control Engineering
  3. Robotics
  4. Computer Science
  5. IT Networks

The skills of an IA2R engineer

The IA2R programme trains multi-skilled engineers in the fields of high technologies and computer science in the broad sense.

Specific courses of the minor

Objectives

To train multi-skilled engineers in the field of intelligent systems with predominantly automatic and robotic components interacting with the environment. Autonomous systems increasingly integrate control, diagnosis and supervision functions implementing algorithms based on artificial intelligence (AI).

Technical skills

  • Data science and AI
  • Signal processing and hardware information processing
  • Supervision of systems
  • Control
  • Robotics
  • Autonomous system design

Robotised systems are evolving rapidly and are capable of carrying out learning based on collected data. The challenges consist now of being able to introduce the machine learning algorithms into compact architectures from the perspective of available computing power and energy. Mobile robotics is a highly relevant learning focus for the design of embedded systems and connected autonomous vehicles.

Internships

  • Assistant Engineer, 12 to 14-week internship at the end of the 4th year
  • Engineer, 6-month internship during the programme’s final semester

Work-study

Possibility to carry out the final year in a work-study programme under a professional contract with a company.

Double-degrees

IA2R major students can enrol in a double-degree between Polytech Nancy and the Faculty of Science and Technology of Nancy:

SIA minor

  • Master in Computer Science: Machine Learning, Vision & Robotics (AVR)
  • Master in Complex System Engineering (ISC)
  • Master in Electronics Engineering and Automatic Control (EEA)

SIR minor
